What if Hebrews chapter one doesn’t actually call Jesus God? In this thought-provoking and insightful expositional study, we continue our journey through Hebrews 1, examining verses 5–14. The writer builds a powerful case for the Son’s superiority over angels – but not by equating Jesus with Yahweh. Instead, we discover a wonderful, revealing picture: the Son is appointed, exalted, and given an everlasting kingdom, yet always in complete dependence on the one true God.
We walk through each Old Testament quotation – from Psalm 2, 2 Samuel 7, Deuteronomy 32, Psalm 96, Psalm 104, Psalm 45, Psalm 102, and Psalm 110 – showing how each verse, in its original context, referred either to human kings or to God Himself.
