Inspiration Study 2: 'Comparisons and Alleged Contradictions'

This talk considers the way that scripture interprets scripture. The speaker examines several examples of where a passage contains quotations from another passage.
The network of quotations within Scripture is cited as evidence for inspiration. It is shown that true Bible study involves “comparing spiritual things with spiritual” (1 Cor. 2:13).
Some alleged contradictions are also considered with possible solutions, but it is emphasized that such apparent contradictions reflect our lack of understanding rather than a fault with the text. Bro Nigel Bernard

“The Gospel of John has been passed down to us by the hands of faithful copyists into the age of computers, IPADs and Smartphones. So do we now need to update the way we read the scriptures and look to modern scholarship  for guidance? The first talk discusses a sound approach to reading and interpreting scripture so that we can be “born again … by the word of God”. The second talk looks closely at the opening chapter of the gospel and discusses the significance of the allusions to Moses and the Name of God, and to significant events in the life of Jacob. These links to Hebrew scriptures  make us marvel at the wonder of the wholly inspired word of God. It is this word of God that will change our lives eternally if we are prepared to read it carefully and come to know and follow Jesus the Christ, the Son of God.”

Why the Land of Israel special is to Christians

Whats So Special About Israel?

It's a land where three continents join, where east meets west and north meets south.  A land of contrast between ancient and modern, the desert and fruitful farms, the rich and the poor.
It's a land where war and conflict have been ever present throughout the centuries, where ethnic tension threatens constantly to explode into fresh violence.
Yes, it's the land that is so special that the Lord God proclaimed:
"It is a land that the Lord your God cares for, the eyes of God are continually on it from the beginning of the year to its end" (Deuteronomy 11 v 12  N.I.V.)
Its people are the people to whom the Lord God said:
"I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your saviour".  (Isaiah 43 v 3  N.I.V.)
Its capital city is so special that Jesus Christ the Son of God said:
"Do not swear at all, either by the heaven for it is God's throne, or by the earth, for it is His footstool;  or by Jerusalem, for it is the City of the Great King"  (Matthew 5 v 35  N.I.V.)
However viewed today, Israel does not appear special at all; many of its people are not interested in God.  Its actions are often unacceptable to world opinion, it has economic and political problems.

But all this is to change because the Bible shows that God has a master plan which involves Israel and all people wherever they live in the world.  The plan offers hope to a world in depression, peace to warring nations, plenty to millions who hunger, eternal life to you and me.

Turkey's Erdogan takes tough EU line after PM quits

President Tayyip Erdogan told the European Union on Friday that Turkey would not make changes to its terrorism laws required under a deal to curb migration, and declared: "we're going our way, you go yours". His fiery speech will be a blow to any hope in European capitals that it might be business as usual with Turkey after Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, who negotiated the migration deal with Europe and had largely delivered on Turkey's commitments so far, announced he was standing down.
Basically what is happening is this… The EU wants Turkey to stop migrants reaching Europe. In return member states will give Turks visa free travel into the EU.
But Turkey’s president is not happy with this deal. The migrants are too big an issue for him. The migration crisis (mainly caused by Syria) is causing nations to fall out and tensions are building. Turkey we know will be part of the Gogian invasion. Turkey is Togarmah of Ezekiel 38 and therefore invades Israel with Russia.

Aleppo Braces for 'War Of All Wars' and more news

Aleppo saw one of its bloodiest days since the ceasefire began recently, as government forces laid the groundwork for a “war of all wars” to retake Syria’s second city. The carnage of the last few days has propelled Aleppo - bitterly contested since 2012 and considered the jewel of Syria - once again to the main battlefield in the civil war. The Syrian regime pounded rebel areas in the city with air raids, including on another medical clinic, while opposition fighters hit government-held neighbourhoods with rocket and artillery fire. Friday prayers were cancelled across Aleppo for only the second time during the five-year war, so worried were residents that they would be targeted if they gathered in groups. With more than 100 killed in the past 48 hours, an average of one Syrian was dying every 25 minutes.
